I was born in Los Angeles; however, since my parents moved us to Chico when I was just one year old, I am proud to say this is my hometown. I grew up in a family who loved Jesus, but like a lot of teenagers, was really good at looking like I had it 'together' on Sunday mornings while still 'doing my own thing' during the week. It wasn't until I went to college that I had an encounter with the Lord and felt like I had two choices: continue down the road that was leading to emptiness or choose to surrender and really make Jesus Lord of my life. Thankfully, I made the right choice. I have a high value for adventure and am thankful that my walk with Jesus is just that.
Throughout college and beyond, I had the opportunity to run the youth program on a cruise line that afforded me the opportunity to travel the world. It was during a “vacation” while I was home that I met my husband and decided I had finally found a man worth staying in the country for. We have been married since 2002 . . . and just to set everyone’s minds at ease, we will have children at some point.
I have been on staff at Neighborhood Church since 2002. It was my great privilege to pour into the lives of high school students until August 2008 when I transitioned to focusing primarily on loving college students. Because of my experience as a teenager, I have a great conviction for walking in honest, deep relationships and for accountability. I am looking forward to the future, praying and trusting that no matter what it holds, it will be an adventure.
