Missions

Short Term Missions

Missions is really about extending the Kingdom of God in our city, region and the nations. Most people have an experience with missions in the days of their youth through short trips to serve and bless others either in our region, or in other countries. The youth ministry and college ministries have taken these trips to Mexico, Uganda and other places in recent years. Short term missions for adults have included Cairo and Uganda. More short term missions trips are being considered, one to Medicine Hat in Canada is scheduled for fall of 2010. Some members of our church family strike out on their own with other agencies and non profit organizations to make a difference in the world, and we enjoy praying, sending and celebrating those efforts. We have sent individuals on short term missions to South America, Africa, Australia, Europe, Asia, the Pacific Islands and India for a variety of different work. Please let us know if you're heading out to do missions work so we can partner with you in prayer!

Long Term Missions

One of the joys in being a part of a church body is partnering with the Lord in missions work both here and overseas. This includes participating in and/or sponsoring those missionaries serving overseas and supporting organizations in our community that are intentionally reaching out. Neighborhood Church is presently supporting the following missionaries:

Local Missions:

  • Cristo Salva: Pastor Mark Volstad (meets on the Neighborhood Church campus)
  • Servant Leadership Network: Gaylord Enns
  • The Jesus Center
  • The Prayer House: Ken Winton
  • Women’s Resource Clinic

Foreign Missions:

  • Walt & Christiane Beeler: Pioneers, Hungary
  • John Mark & Sandra Davis: Israel
  • Glenn & Marcia Gero: Wycliffe, Senegal
  • Stan & Patty Gibson: Wycliffe, Papua New Guinea
  • Kitty Hamilton: Kitty Hamilton Ministries
  • Spas & Christina Stoimenova: SEND International, Bulgaria
  • Lynda Prince: First Nations
  • David & Becki Thompson: C&MA, Gabon
  • Mike & Carol Welty: C&MA, Ecuador
  • James & Kelly Bishop: YWAM, Hawaii
  • John & Jana Knoch: YWAM, Canada  (latest ministry update letter)
  • There are a couple of other missionary couples overseas but due to their service in closed countries and the concern for their safety, we are unable to list who and where they are.

We will be reformatting our team concept for missions support in the near future and look forward to highlighting and celebrating missionaries in new ways. In the past we have celebrated missions once a year, but in recent months have done much more during our corporate worship times to highlight, pray for, and celebrate missions efforts. If you're interested in being a part of the new structure, contact Amy Wadlow.
